How to add multiple photos to Instagram story?

There are a few different in-built ways to upload multiple images to your Instagram Story, depending on your goal. Here are the main methods:

Add multiple photos/videos as separate Instagram Stories

  1. In the Instagram app, tap the plus button on your profile picture, or swipe right to open Stories;
  2. Tap the photo icon in the bottom-left of your screen. This will open your Camera Roll;
  3. Tap Select in the top right corner. This will allow you to select up to 10 different photos or videos to upload;
  4. Once chosen, tap the arrow in the bottom-right corner of your screen to proceed;
  5. Customize each photo or video as you see fit. Once done, tap the arrow button in the bottom right;
  6. Tap the circle to choose your audience (Your Story or Close Friends). Finally, tap the Share button.

This will upload all of your chosen photos and/or videos as separate stories. Please note that this functionality might not be available in your region yet.

Add multiple photos to Instagram Stories in one collage

  1. In the Instagram app, tap the plus button on your profile picture, or swipe right to open Stories;
  2. Tap on the camera icon to open the Create mode;
  3. On the left-side menu, find the third option from the top (called either Collage or Layout). This will divide your screen into quadrants by default;
  4. There, you'll be able to fill each quadrant with a fresh photo, or something from your Camer Roll available in the bottom-left corner;
  5. Once you're done, tap the checkmark at the bottom to proceed;
  6. Customize as you see fit. Once done, tap the arrow button in the bottom right;
  7. Tap the circle to choose your audience (Your Story or Close Friends). Finally, tap the Share button.

Note that there are 5 different layout options available. To select a different template, tap the button directly below the Layout button.

Add multiple photos to Instagram Stories via layering

In case you're feeling restricted by the existing collage templates, you can use the layering method in the Create mode to make something more unique. Here's how it works:

  1. In the Instagram app, tap the plus button on your profile picture, or swipe right to open Stories;
  2. Tap on the camera icon to open the Create mode;
  3. Tap the Sticker button (little smiley face) at the top;
  4. There, find the Camera Roll sticker — it'll be a circle with your latest photo in it;
  5. Select a photo you'd like to stick to your story. The added photo can be dragged around the screen, tilted, and resized;
  6. Rinse and repeat until all of your photos are added and fitted as you require;
  7. Once done customizing, tap the arrow button in the bottom right to get to the Share button.

You can change the background color via the circle at the top of your screen as required. Additionally, you can change the shape of your photos by tapping on them (e.g. making them a circle), and add other sticker types as required (e.g. text, poll, etc).
