Huda Kattan was born on October 2, 1983, in Oklahoma City, OK, USA, as one of four children to Iraqi parents. Her family moved around, first relocating to Cookeville, Tennessee, then to Dartmouth, Massachusetts, and finally to Dubai, UAE in 2006. In 2008, Kattan graduated the University of Michigan–Dearborn as business and finance major, which landed her in Robert Half consultancy for some time.

In 2009, Kattan married Christopher Goncalo. The couple resides in Dubai together with their daughter Nour Giselle.
